One detail on this listing is worth reading before you order. The pump photographed for our stock carries a plate reading PISTON PUMP, 185-5918, dated 2025.12.05, made in China. That number is paired with 224-6369 in trade data, and we show the plate we actually ship rather than a stock image of a different number.

Caterpillar lists 224-6369 as PUMP GP-PS-B. The PS-B suffix appears on Cat listings for variable displacement axial piston pumps elsewhere in the range, though Cat does not spell out the construction for this specific number, so we treat the type as strongly indicated rather than stated. Trade parts data applies it to the D-series backhoes with the Cat 3054 engine, and pairs 185-5918 as the related number.

CAT 420D, 430D, 432D and 442D backhoe loaders. Machine prefixes in the trade data include BMC and BKC for the 420D, BML for the 430D, BLD for the 432D and BRG for the 442D, with the 3054 and 3054C engines. Confirm against your serial plate.

Backhoe loaders of this generation are frequently blamed on their pump when the fault is elsewhere. Run the short list: oil level and filter condition, suction hose for a collapsed liner, relief settings if one function is weak, and the drive coupling for wear. Then measure pressure and flow at working temperature. Our przewodniku diagnostyki pomp oraz regulator adjustment article cover both, and kontrola koła napędowego covers what to look at on the input side.

Match shaft spline, pilot, flange, port positions and control orientation against the removed pump. Prime the casing with clean oil before cranking. Fit a new return filter element and clear the suction strainer, holding cleanliness around ISO 4406 18/16/13. Keep the case drain unrestricted to tank. Prove pressure and flow against the machine specification and record the readings.

Minimum order one piece. New aftermarket units carry a three to six month warranty as stated on your proforma invoice. Bench tested, photographed against your order before the wooden case closes, delivery 5 to 8 working days from payment subject to stock.
