1. Key Features & Benefits
-
Japan Genuine KYB Travel Motor – OEM part series MAG-18VP-350F, engineered and manufactured by KYB Corporation (formerly Kayaba), a global leader in hydraulic systems and the original equipment supplier for many of the world’s top excavator manufacturers. This final drive is the authentic component that powers your mini excavator’s traction system.
-
Direct Fit for Multiple 2.5–4.0 Ton Mini Excavators – Precision-engineered for seamless bolt-on replacement across a wide range of popular compact excavator models, including:
-
Yanmar ViO30 and ViO35 series (ViO30-6, ViO30-7, ViO35-6, ViO35-7, and related variants)
-
CAT 303 series (303C CR, 303E CR, and other 3-ton class Cat mini excavators)
-
Additional compatible models: Kobelco SK27SR-5, Takeuchi TB125, Kubota U25, Hitachi ZX29U, and various 2.5 to 4.0 metric ton class mini excavators
-
-
Integrated Hydraulic Motor and 2-Stage Planetary Gearbox – Combines a high-efficiency swashplate piston motor with a case-rotation planetary reduction gear system, converting hydraulic flow into the high torque necessary to propel your excavator forward or backward with precision.
-
Two-Speed Shift Capability – Standard two-speed mechanism allows seamless switching between high-speed travel for maneuvering around the job site and low-speed, high-torque crawling for demanding tasks such as trenching, pushing, or climbing steep grades. Also available with optional auto‑shift function, which automatically changes speed according to travel load pressure.
-
Robust Torque Output for Its Class – Delivers exceptional torque for excavators in the 2–4 ton class. The MAG-18VP-350F boasts a maximum output torque of 3.14 kN·m at a maximum working pressure of 27.5 MPa, with a maximum output speed of 70 rpm and a maximum displacement of 1,000 cm³/rev. This gives you the traction needed to navigate muddy terrain, climb slopes, or push through heavy materials with confidence.
-
Built-in Anti-Cavitation Valve – Standard anti-cavitation protection prevents the motor from starving on overrun conditions, such as traveling down steep slopes. This valve stops the motor smoothly and prevents cavitation, safeguarding internal components from premature wear.
-
Automatic Hydraulic-Release Parking Brake – The built-in multiple-plate wet disk parking brake engages automatically when travel controls are in neutral, holding the machine securely on slopes or when parked. As soon as the operator moves the joystick, the brake releases instantly for immediate response.
-
Durable Cast Iron Housing – Manufactured with a heavy-duty cast iron housing and precision-ground gears. The design and materials are engineered and rigorously tested to withstand the demanding conditions of construction, landscaping, and agricultural applications for years of reliable service.
-
Plug-and-Play Installation – Built strictly to KYB’s original specifications. The hydraulic port connections, speed shift port, and case drain line are all positioned at original OEM locations, allowing for direct replacement with no modifications required. We pre-inspect each unit and send detailed photos for your confirmation before shipment.
-
Fast Delivery & High Availability – 5–8 working days lead time from our Guangzhou warehouse, shipped by sea or air in reinforced wooden crates. Monthly supply capacity of 300 units, available for single-piece or bulk orders.
2. Applications
The KYB MAG-18VP-350F final drive travel motor powers 2.5 to 4.0 ton mini excavators across a wide range of industries, offering the traction and reliability needed for both delicate urban projects and tough terrain jobs:
-
Urban Construction & Utility Work – Mini excavators are the backbone of sidewalk repairs, fiber optic and water line trenching, and street works, where space is severely limited but job site mobility is critical. A reliable final drive ensures quick two-speed travel between multiple work points and the high torque needed to maneuver on compacted urban ground.
-
Landscaping & Residential Projects – Landscapers use mini excavators for pool excavations, retaining walls, drainage installation, and site preparation. A smooth-operating, low-noise travel motor is essential in noise-sensitive residential areas. The KYB MAG-18VP-350F’s quiet operation minimizes disturbance, while two-speed capability allows efficient movement between job zones on a large property.
-
Rental Fleet Maintenance – Mini excavator travel motors are high-wear components due to their use by multiple operators, each with different driving habits, and exposure to varying ground conditions. A fresh, genuine KYB final drive restores full travel performance, eliminates customer complaints about weak tracks or strange grinding noises, and reduces maintenance calls after each rental cycle.
-
Agriculture & Land Management – Mini excavators are increasingly used on farms for irrigation trenching, drainage ditches, fence post hole digging, and clearing brush. The high torque of the MAG-18VP-350F provides the low-speed grunt needed to pull the machine through soft or uneven agricultural ground without damaging delicate topsoil.
-
Forestry & Vegetation Management – In wooded or overgrown terrain, excavators face steep inclines, muddy conditions, protruding roots, and surface obstacles that can strand a machine with an unreliable final drive. A genuine KYB final drive with robust sealing systems withstands abrasive organic debris and prevents sudden failure far from repair support.
-
Mining & Quarrying Support – While mini excavators are not primary production machines in large mines, they are vital for site cleanup, drainage maintenance, equipment servicing, and small-scale aggregate handling at processing plants. The MAG-18VP-350F’s anti-cavitation valve and rugged cast iron housing are specifically engineered to withstand the abrasive dust and debris commonly encountered in quarry environments.
-
Demolition and Scrap Processing – Small excavators working in demolition or metal recycling yards face intense vibration, sharp debris, and repeated hard impacts against their undercarriage. The robust two-speed planetary gearing inside the KYB final drive absorbs these extreme shocks without internal damage.
-
Snow Removal and Winter Maintenance – In cold climates, mini excavators are used for snow clearing, road shoulder maintenance, and municipal winter work. The MAG-18VP-350F’s sealed bearings and multi-plate wet brakes operate reliably in sub‑zero temperatures, while the two-speed shift allows easy adjustment between deep‑snow digging speeds and fast plowing travel.

Installation tips for the KYB MAG-18VP-350F:
Before installation, verify the bolt circle pattern on your machine. The 303C typically uses a 9‑bolt pattern for both the frame mount and the sprocket. Check the number of hydraulic hoses (typically 3 or 4 lines).
When disconnecting the old travel motor, cap all hydraulic ports immediately to prevent dirt ingress into the high-pressure system.
The case drain line must be clear and unobstructed; a blocked drain line can blow the motor’s shaft seal.
After installation, use SAE 90 or 80W‑90 gear oil (API GL‑4 or GL‑5) as required. The motor itself is lubricated by hydraulic fluid circulating through it; the separate gear oil fill is for the final drive planetary section.
After installation, run the machine at low speed for a few minutes and check for any hydraulic leaks around the port connections, case drain, and shaft seal. Tighten as needed, but avoid overtightening.
If any leakage is observed during initial testing, replace the floating seal and check the mating surfaces for damage.
Warranty note: Warranty period is 3 to 6 months depending on product details. We do not provide warranty service for genuine original parts. For warranty‑covered alternatives, ask our sales team. Please inspect carefully upon arrival.
