Two numbering blocks, one machine. 708-1W-00882 and 708-1W-41570 sit far apart in Komatsu’s numbering sequence, which usually means they are not two revisions of the same item, and no source we could find documents a link between them. We publish both numbers on this page and quote against your plate photograph.
Applicability and evidence
Komatsu WA380-6 and WA430-6 wheel loaders, listed in trade parts data as the main hydraulic pump. Komatsu’s own online catalogue returns no page for either number, so the item name is trade-established rather than manufacturer-confirmed, and no displacement, pressure or flow figure is published for it here. The 708-1x prefix is consistent with a pump in Komatsu’s hydraulic group; the fan pump and the steering pump on the same machine are separate items, listed separately.
Three pumps, one loader
On a WA380-6 the hydraulic side is split three ways, and knowing which one is failing is the whole ordering question:
- Main pump (this item) drives the boom, bucket and steering priority. Wear shows as slow cycle times and long fill.
- Steering pump 708-1U-00170 feeds the articulation circuit. Wear shows as heaviness at idle.
- Fan drive pump manages cooling only. Wear shows as temperature with normal digging performance.
Diagnosis and fitting
Measure implement pressure and flow at working temperature, then check relief settings and the priority divider before condemning the pump. Inspect the oil: glitter means a flush and a filter change, not just a new pump. On fitting, match shaft spline, pilot, flange, port positions and control orientation against the removed unit, prime the casing with clean oil before cranking, keep the case drain unrestricted to tank, change the return filter element, and target ISO 4406 18/16/13.
