Two numbers, one machine family, and no published rule connecting them. Rather than guess, this page carries both and explains what the evidence does and does not support.
What we can state
Both numbers sit in Komatsu’s 708 hydraulic pump group, and within that group the 1x series carries pumps while the 7x series carries motors, which is consistent across every Komatsu-published item name we checked. Trade parts data attaches both to Komatsu WB-series backhoe loaders. What no source states is whether 00161 supersedes 00112, whether they are different displacements, or whether they differ by build specification.
Why we publish one page for both
Two separate pages claiming the same machine would compete with each other in search and, more importantly, would each have to assert something we cannot prove. A single page with both numbers lets a buyer search either one, read the honest position, and then confirm against their own machine. That is a better outcome than a confident wrong answer.
How to confirm which one you need
- Read the number cast on the pump you removed. It is the only authority that matters.
- Note the machine model and serial prefix from the data plate.
- Check the shaft spline count and length, the pilot diameter, the flange bolt pattern and the port layout against our photographs.
- Send us the plate photograph. We quote the number your machine carries, and if we stock the other one we will say so before you pay.
Backhoe pump diagnosis
Backhoe loaders idle a great deal and work in short, sharp cycles, which keeps oil hot and lets contamination settle rather than being filtered out. Test in this order: implement pressure and flow hot, then relief and pilot settings, then the suction line and strainer, then the pump. Fitting and ordering
Prime the casing with clean oil before cranking, change the return filter element, keep the case drain unrestricted to tank, and target ISO 4406 18/16/13. Minimum order one piece. Three to six month warranty on new aftermarket units as stated on your proforma invoice; bench checked and photographed before the wooden case closes, delivery 5 to 8 working days from payment subject to stock.
