A pump that spans two hauler generations is genuinely useful for a fleet carrying both. It is also the sort of listing that gets stretched too far, so here is what the evidence supports and where it stops.

Volvo’s own online catalogue does not return a citable page for 15140666, so the machine list is dealer-established rather than manufacturer-confirmed, and no displacement, pressure or flow figure is published for it here.
Where a two-series listing stops being helpful
Volvo carried the pump train forward from the F series into the G series, so a shared part number is plausible. What does not carry forward automatically is the control setting: pressure cut-in, flow priority and the regulator arrangement were revised on some G-series builds. A pump that is physically identical and set up differently will fit, run, and leave the machine slow to tip. Confirm from the number cast on your pump and the machine serial prefix, not from the model letter alone.
Diagnosis and fitting
- Judge the pump hot: hoist and tip times lengthen as oil temperature rises.
- Rule out relief settings and the body holding valve before condemning the pump.
- Noise under load points at cavitation, so check the suction line and strainer.
- On fitting, match shaft spline, pilot, flange, port positions and control orientation against the removed pump, prime with clean oil before cranking, change the return filter element, keep the case drain unrestricted to tank, and target ISO 4406 18/16/13.
