Açıklama

Caterpillar put the word fan in this part’s title, so there is no ambiguity about what it does. What there is plenty of ambiguity about is which loader it belongs to, because the G series, the G II series and the H series all look similar from a distance and use different pumps.

What the catalogue states

191-2942 is listed as a Hydraulic Fan Piston Pump. The parts book item name is PUMP GP-PISTON, and in older Cat literature the same number appears as PISTON PUMP GROUP-SLIPPER, which tells you the construction: a slipper piston pump. The component cross-reference is 10R-7387. We have not found a published displacement, pressure or flow figure for this number, so none is quoted here.

Applicability

Caterpillar’s data attaches 191-2942 to the Series II loaders only:

  • 950G II, prefix AYL with the 3126 engine, and AYB, BAA, AXR, AXZ, AXX, AYS and AYD with the 3126B.
  • 962G II, AYE and BAB with the 3126, and BAD, AXY, AXS, BAC and AYG with the 3126B.
  • IT62G II integrated toolcarrier, AYA with the 3126B.

The plain 950G and 962G, without the II, are a different machine in the parts data. So is the 950H and 962H, which uses 254-5146. A listing that offers one fan pump for all of those has not been checked against a parts book.

Why we do not list 215-8298 as a cross-reference

Our own internal parts sheet paired 215-8298 with this number, and we have removed it. Caterpillar applies 215-8298 to the 938G II and IT38G II with the 3126B engine, which is a smaller machine on a different cooling package. Two pumps can look almost identical, share a bolt pattern and still differ in displacement and control, and in that case the physical similarity is exactly what causes the ordering error. The same applies to the Alibaba titles that list this pump for 950G, 962G, 950H and 962H in one heading.

The general rule we apply to every number on this site: a cross-reference is only valid if Caterpillar’s own applicability data puts it on the same machine. Anything else is a seller guessing, and a guess costs a workshop a machine on blocks.

Machine context

The 950G II and 962G II are Cat 3126 and 3126B engined wheel loaders. We could not find a first-party power or weight figure for the Series II variants that we would publish; the numbers on seller pages contradict each other, with the same model listed variously at 180 hp, 197 hp and 137 kW. Where the data is that unreliable, the honest answer is that we do not know, and the fitment question is answered by the serial prefix instead.

Diagnosing a loader fan pump

Loader cooling complaints have a rhythm worth knowing. Heat builds during the loading cycle and falls back on the tram, and the operator starts holding the engine at high idle to force airflow. That habit hides the fault and makes it expensive, because the pump is running at maximum command against a hot circuit for the whole shift.

  1. Clean the core first, then re-measure. A loader working in aggregate or waste will plug a face in weeks.
  2. Check the hydraulic oil level and the condition of the return filter before suspecting the pump.
  3. Measure delivery pressure and flow at the pump output with the oil at working temperature. Our hidrolik fan pompası teşhis kılavuzu covers the setup.
  4. Confirm the control is being commanded. Regulator diagnosis and adjustment covers the signal side.
  5. Rule out starvation. A blocked suction strainer makes a healthy pump look dead and then destroys it.

Montaj

Prime the casing with clean oil before cranking, since a dry start is the commonest cause of an immediate failure on a slipper piston pump. Fit a new return filter element and clear the suction strainer. Keep the case drain line unrestricted to tank, because casing back-pressure is what finishes shaft seals. Match shaft spline, pilot, flange and port orientation against the removed pump, and confirm rotation with the fan restrained before the guard goes back. Target cleanliness around ISO 4406 18/16/13, the class Bosch Rexroth guidance gives for piston units in mobile service.

Terms

Minimum order one piece. New aftermarket units carry a three to six month warranty as stated on your proforma invoice. Bench tested, photographed against your order before the wooden case closes, delivery 5 to 8 working days from payment subject to stock. The fan motor for these loaders is 161-8919, and the full CAT range is under Caterpillar hydraulic fan motor.
