A workshop ordering a D65EX pump on the model letters alone will frequently receive a -15 item that bolts up and does not perform, because the displacement and control specification differ.

Failure signs on a main pump
- All functions slow, worse as the oil heats: internal wear and falling volumetric efficiency.
- Noise at idle: cavitation, check the suction hose liner and the strainer before condemning the pump.
- Poor blade or ripper force with normal speed: relief or pump control rather than wear.
- Oil at the shaft: case drain back-pressure, then coupling misalignment.
