An articulated hauler runs its cooling pack harder than almost any other machine on site: a loaded climb at full engine power, a tip, an empty return, and repeat, all in a dust cloud of its own making. The fan motor is the component that has to keep the hydraulics and the transmission inside their temperature band through all of it, and on the A25 to A40 range that component is 11116529.

A related number, 11147935, appears in the same parts family and is listed against L-series wheel loaders rather than haulers, so the two should not be treated as one item without checking the plate.
One motor, four series
Volvo kept the fan drive interface stable across the D, E, F and G generations of these haulers, which is good news for a fleet: one part number to stock across a mixed yard. It is also the reason wrong orders happen, because stability at the mounting face does not mean stability in the control. Displacement, port orientation and the drain arrangement changed on some builds, and a motor that bolts on and moves the wrong volume will still leave the machine running hot.
The practical rule: match the number cast on your motor and the machine serial prefix, not the model badge on the door.
Diagnosis on a hauler
- Clean the cores first. Haulers in quarry or waste work plug a pack faster than any other machine, and a hot-running hauler is more often a dirty cooler than a worn motor.
- Confirm the fan reaches full speed on a loaded climb, not just at idle in the yard.
- Measure flow at the motor ports. Short supply is the fan drive pump, and on these machines the pump is a separate item from the main hydraulic pumps.
- Check case drain volume and the routing of the drain hose, which is frequently pinched during other repairs.
