Cat’s title names the circuit: implement. On a D9R that is blade lift, tilt and ripper, and it is the pump a crew notices when the machine stops pushing through a heavy cut. It is not a fan pump, and the 17T note carried in our incoming parts sheet has been dropped because nothing in Caterpillar’s documentation uses that designation.
Applicability
CAT D9R track-type tractors. Cat’s literature covers machine prefix WDM from 00001 on this item, with wider D9R applicability including HWH, JJB, 8BL and ACL and the custom groups 7TL and ABK. Engines are the Cat 3408 or 3408C depending on prefix, so confirm by PIN rather than by the model badge. Published machine data we can stand behind: the D9R carries 302 kW net to ISO 9249 rated at 1,900 rpm, with no derating to 2,286 m.
New number and reman number are one pump
0R-7669 is not a second part. It is the Caterpillar remanufactured exchange reference for the same item as 104-1752, and the pattern repeats across this family: 0R-8503 on the D8R pump, 0R-7682 on the grader steering pump, 0R-7949 on the articulated truck pump. Suppliers who list them as separate products, or bundle them as a compatibility set, are describing one pump twice. Enter either in your system and you will receive the same part; just do not order both.
Failure signs
- Blade and ripper slow together, worse hot: pump wear. Test flow at working temperature.
- Noise from the pump compartment: cavitation. Check the suction line and tank filter first.
- One function only: relief setting or control valve, not the pump.
- Shaft seal weeping: check case drain back-pressure and coupling alignment.

Fitting and ordering
Match shaft spline, pilot, flange, port positions and the compensator cut-in setting against the removed pump; a replacement set wrong will either stall the engine under load or fail to reach blade speed. Prime before cranking, change the filter element, keep the case drain unrestricted, and prove pressure and flow against specification before closing the job. Minimum order one piece, three to six month warranty as stated on your proforma invoice, bench tested and photographed before packing, delivery 5 to 8 working days from payment subject to stock.
