Volvo’s hauler range moved through three engine and emissions generations while keeping the basic hydraulic architecture recognisable, and this pump sits across two of them. That makes it a useful stock item for a mixed fleet and a dangerous one to order on a model badge alone.

Volvo’s own online catalogue does not return a citable page for the number, so the construction and the machine list are dealer-established rather than manufacturer-confirmed. What changes between the E, F and G series
The pump family persists; the control specification does not always. Between these generations Volvo revised engine management, hydraulic pressure settings and the way flow is prioritised between steering, hoist and travel functions. Two pumps can share a housing, a shaft and a port layout while one is set up for a different regulator characteristic. On a hauler that shows up as a body that tips slowly or a machine that steers heavily while digging out of a face, and neither symptom looks like a pump problem at first.
So the order is confirmed from the number cast on your pump plus the machine serial prefix, not from the model letters on the door.
How a hauler main pump announces its decline
- Hoist and tip times lengthen over weeks, worst on hot cycles, while the engine still pulls hard.
- Noise from the pump bay under load: cavitation or a worn control.
- Body drift with the control centred: check the holding valve before condemning the pump.
- Oil at the shaft: case drain back-pressure, frequently introduced during an unrelated repair.

Match shaft spline, pilot, flange, port positions and the control or compensator arrangement against the removed pump. Prime with clean oil before cranking, change the return filter element, clear the suction strainer, keep the case drain unrestricted to tank, and target ISO 4406 18/16/13. Minimum order one piece.
